Welcome to Bible 8!
This quarter we will focus on the book of Revelations and putting together/performing an Easter play for the 6th grade.
At the end of the class, my goal is not that you have memorized verses or written about Biblical Truths.
It is my sincerest hope that God is made REAL to you this year, that He and He alone moves in your life and teaches you more about Himself.
Through the passages we will read and discussions we will have, I hope to show you the Greatest Teacher of all time, Jesus Christ.
HOMEWORK DUE 4/27 - Turn in your Easter groups' lists of questions/needs to complete before practice begins.
HOMEWORK DUE 5/2 - Turn in your 6-person list, complete with a sentence description of each person and what is important about them.
HOMEWORK DUE 5/4 - Answer the following questions about Chapter 4:
1.) What are the three views of the Rapture or Tribulation? (Describe them)
2.) What did the trumpet-like voice say to John, and what happened to John's spirit after this?
3.) What color will the twenty-four elders wear in heaven, and what does this color symbolize?
4.) What did the elders lay before the throne, and what attribute did they acknowledge about God?
HOMEWORK DUE 5/9 - Revelation 5:7-8 says that each of the 24 elders had a harp and they will be playing along with the singing in heaven.
Which musical instrument do you enjoy playing or hearing the most? Is there a reason this instrument means something to you,
or has a memory with this instrument been the cause of its meaning in your life?
Be prepared to share your instruments in class on Monday.
HOMEWORK DUE 5/11 - Answer the following questions about the verses we read/discussed: 1.) Why is the scroll that is discussed so important? 2.) Describe the difference between Jesus the Lamb and Jesus the Lion. 3.) What do the angels around the throne say about jesus? 4.) The church is described as a kingdom and priests (Revelation 5:10). What significance does this have for believers today? 5.) According to Revelation 5:11-14, how do we know Jesus is more than a good man or a prophet?
HOMEWORK DUE 5/16 - Highlighted play script.
Thursday, 5/19 - Dress Rehearsal! All props/costumes need to be IN MY ROOM for next week.
MONDAY, 5/23 - PERFORMANCE! Don't be late. :)
